“In these two years when German Mironov was heading the company, we were able to almost finish the construction of the main buildings of the mining and metallurgical plant, a major part of the crusher and conveyor facility, to complete the power infrastructure and the access road,” said Valery Kazikaev, the Udokan Copper Chairman of the Board. “We were able to achieve this thanks to German Mironov’s efforts as a CEO,” he added.
Before joining Udokan Copper, Boris Slutskiy has managed investment portfolio and projects at EVRAZ since 2018.
He graduated from the St. Petersburg Mining Institute in 1988 where he majored in Metallurgy and Process Automation.
Boris Slutskiy started his career in 1988 as an engineer at Mekhanobr Research Institute in St. Petersburg. Then he joined Metcon Research (a US consulting company) as a metallurgy engineer and worked there from 1995 to 1997. Later he worked as chief metallurgist at Colorado Minerals Research Institute in the US (1997–2002), as production director at Saint-Gobain Isover in Yegoryevsk, Russia (2002–2005), and as director of a subsidiary of the Dow Chemical Company in Chekhov, Russia (2005–2008).
In 2010 – 2018, he managed a number of large-scale projects at SIBUR, a Russian petrochemicals company, including the construction of a polypropylene production plant in Tobolsk (with 500,000 tonnes per annum capacity) as director for infrastructure projects in 2010 – 2012, and the construction of polymerization units at ZapSibNeftekhim company (SIBUR Holding CJSC) in 2014 – 2015. In 2012 – 2014, he was director of RusVinyl, a joint PVC project of SIBUR Holding and Solvay. He also managed the construction of the Amur Gas Processing Plant (with the annual capacity of 42 bcm) in 2015 – 2018.

We are sure his contribution will help prepare the feasibility study for Stage 2 of the Udokan MMP in the shortest time possible and ensure effective financial and economic modeling of the project,” said Valery Kazikaev.
